Ranchi. Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren will tomorrow leave for Kolkata to attend a meeting convened by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on tackling the Maoist menace.
Besides, West Bengal, Orissa and Bihar Chief Ministers were scheduled to take part in the meeting which was mainly aimed at perusing details of ''strategic operations''being contemplated to launch against the Maoists soon.
IG (Operation) D K Pandey and DIG CRPF Alok Raj were already camping in Kolkata. The meeting would start from 1000 hrs tomorrow.
Earlier, CRPF Special Director General and the nodal officer for special operations to counter Maoists, Vijay Raman, held discussion with top police officers and personnel of his force here.
Mr Raman arrived here on February 3.
Officially 18 out of 24 districts had been dubbed Maoist-dominated in Jharkhand.
