Jaunpur. Uttar Pradesh police would get polygon buildings and towers constructed in Naxal hit areas following the model of Andhra Pradesh to beat Naxalism.

Additional Director General (Law and Order) Brijlal said here today that in Naxal hit areas houses having eight angles would be constructed to keep a sharp eye on each and every activity of Naxalites.

''For most of such towers among 41 proposed, the work has already been started including in Sonebhadra, Chandauli and Mirzapur, these towers would help to control Naxalism in the state. With this, 224 boys from Sonebhadra district would join police and they are being trained for this on government expenses,'' Mr Brijlal added.

''As many as 203 special police officers have been deployed in the Naxal hit areas,'' he further added.

Mr Brijlal said a cash award of Rs 50,000 has been declared on the arrest of Neeraj Singh who had been fled away with the help of his friends, killing two constables a couple of days back.

''Now policemen, taking criminals to the court or jail, would be given automatic guns,'' he maintained.
