Hyderabad. The Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind in Andhra Pradesh, today decided to approach the Supreme Court against the High Court judgement, quashing four per cent reservation in jobs and educational institutions to some categories of Muslim community.

The Working Committee of the organisation, which met here under the presidentship of MLC Moulana Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed, decided that apart from approaching the apex court, it would also submit representation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AICC president Sonia Gandhi and other Central leaders for enactment of law in the Parliament to provide reservation to Muslims.

They would hold public meetings in coastal Andhra, Telangana and Rayalaseema regions of the state.

Former Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir said, ''The ruling Congress led by K Rosaiah, was keen to ensure that the reservations were implemented and all the hurdles cleared.'' According to Mr Shabbir, the Ssate government would approach the Supreme Court in the matter and try to see that the judgement is stayed.
